I already posted my rant a couple of days ago about the local Board of Education and their decision to push through a redistricting plan. At the special public meeting last week, I got up in front of the Board, despite my fear of public speaking, and I spoke my mind. I didn't think the Board gave a hoot about what I had to say.
But it turns out that I did earn a spot in the news article on the frontpage of local weekly newspaper. They even quoted me, and spelled my first name right, which is odd because nobody called me or asked me to confirm my name.
My friend Liz also sent off a letter to the newspaper which appeared as a "guest column" yesterday. I then inked a letter to the Superintendent and sent that off to his office, the Board President, and the newspaper. So hopefully, next week the paper will run my letter and we will continue to voice our parental dissatisfaction with the school board and administration.
At the end of the month the Board meets to vote on the budget and to reelect their officers. Liz and I have vowed to make their lives a living hell by attending all future meetings and following up with letters to the newspaper. We intend to be the two bitchy moms who question every single decision and who become the very pointy thorn in the Superintendent 's dictatorial spine.
After all, sometimes being a bitch is all us meek little housewives/soccer moms have.
Bitch On!

You go girl! It's unbelievable that parents have to fight so hard for their children to go to school just down the street. All this busing and rezoning to satisfy the numbers game is insane. Children are people, not numbers. Fighting the good fight is very hard and most parents don't have the strength to do it. So bitch on! I wish you the best of luck!
