Thanks to Debra Galant, my blog is mentioned in the Sunday New York Times in an article she wrote about Jersey bloggers.
I'm still not sure if the outside world really understands us bloggers, and our need to preach inside our little worlds, but it is good to see blogs making a bit of a splash in the mainstream media.
I had to run out and purchase a copy of today's NY Times, because I generally read the issue online, but was informed by Ms. Galant's blog that for some reason the Jersey Section of the NY Times is not available online (and generally isn't until a couple weeks later for a price).
Yes, paper is frustrating to us geeks in cyperspace who bounce from virtual news sites quickly, racing around for juicy headlines and tidbits, gobbling up all the goodies shared throughout the blogosphere.
While blogs have been around for about five years now, and I've only been blogging for eight months (geez it seems like 8 years), I am still in the "First Wave" of the "regular folks" to have joined what perhaps is still considered a hobby for geeky computer or technology nerds.
I have always been an artsy person who dabbled in scientific and technology stuff, hence my affinity towards filmmaking. I admit that I love blogging and I really feel at home here. Some might say I'm obsessive, but I do think it is a positive use of my energy. And I gladly admit that not only am I a blogging geek, but I'm a Jersey blogging mama geek.
congratulations... .and I liked (and blogged about) your Jersey Girl opus too.

How exciting! I'll be curious to know how much your site traffic spikes in the next few days.

Lizbeth,
You didn't tell me you blog. Nice job. Would you like me to mail you the NY Times article? I cut it out of the paper.
