blogging lightly

I'm going to be blogging lightly in the next couple of days as I am on a self-induced deadline to complete a rough cut of my short film before school ends and summer vacation begins (June 22nd; 12:35 pm EST). Yes, this is the SAME short film that I directed back in Jan/Feb. We've had one set-back after another and I'm starting at square one, re-digitizing, and re-editing footage that has already been digitized and edited several times already.

For those of you unfamiliar with editing, it means I have a shitload of work to do. I bought a new Vaio desktop to edit the film at home so that I can basically edit morning, noon, and night -- or until I finally put this baby to bed. Of course I have a couple of other pressing engagements -- like tomorrow night's first ever Cinewomen NJ Salon Meeting. I was the instigator of this meeting, so I sort of HAVE to be there. Then there's a story development meeting I have scheduled for most of the day Thursday. Mixed in between all of that is still needing to shop for Father's Day gifts for my husband, taking the kids to gymnastics, getting ready for a trip to Seattle (and a wedding), and trying to catch up with everything else that I'm currently putting on the back-burner (like laundry, scriptwriting, and publishing The Philosophical Mother Webzine). Gee, I'm beginning to realize that I work awfully hard, and really SHOULD be able to make a living at this mothering/artist stuff.

So, yeah, blogging may be sporadic. But the good news is that my hits are so low right now that I'm not sure anyone is reading anyway.

2. I hope you stay sane with all that editing. I've never done film editing, but if it's anything like any other kind of editing, it can only be accomplished with a lot of coffee and/or wine.
